Each annual gala sports a fresh, unique brand. For the 2024 gala, the Oregon Symphony team wanted a clear departure from past brands that felt more elevated and distinct. We built upon their thematic line, “It starts here,” and explored the concept of, “What starts here changes the world, what starts here starts with us.” Considering where ‘it’ starts, celebrating the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall was a natural choice.
We aimed to remind the audience of Portland’s artistic tradition by taking cues from iconic downtown architecture. Using the Oregon Symphony’s home, the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, as inspiration, we abstracted and spot-foiled architectural details to make the design both modern and grand.
We used silver foiling to elevate architectural features and special moments of copy while extending the celebratory sense of place. Custom die-cuts on the gala invitations mimic the silhouette of the opera box.
