As a creative studio, we’re obviously big fans of craft and self-expression. So is our new friend Garett of db clay, the man on a mission to help folks showcase their personalities via the one thing you can’t leave home without: your wallet.

Packaging design

Buying a wallet is totally fine but making a duct tape wallet is way more fun. Garett would know—he’s made 30,000. Seeking to modernize a nostalgic craft and give kids (or anybody) a screen-free activity, we teamed up to redesign the DIY duct tape wallet kit. Together, we created a vision for the packaging that uses gender-neutral colors to stand out on store shelves and get kids excited to put down their iPads. That’s no easy feat.

Die cut

The die cut was a feature of the original packaging we wanted to keep, serving as a portal that allows shoppers to preview the duct tape color and feel its texture.

Duct tape motif

We developed a duct tape motif for the instruction manual, adding an extra touch of playfulness to this fun-and-functional crafting kit.

Grid patterns

We softened and abstracted duct tape into colorful grid patterns to use as secondary ornamental elements, giving the brand more ways to express itself. Just like the tape in the kits, these patterns can be mixed and matched as db clay sees fit.

"Thank you team Saint Friend! Everything looks truly amazing—thank you for your partnership. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you."
